William Gurnall (1616–1679) was a graduate of Emmanuel College in Cambridge, England, a university under strong Puritan influence. He spent his life after attending Emmanuel College as
pastor of the Church of Christ in Suffolk. At the Restoration, he signed the declaration required by the Act of Uniformity 1662, which made him the subject of an attack, published in 1665, entitled
Covenant-Renouncers Desperate Apostates.
