Summary

Summary

David Hosp sprang onto the literary scene with his electrifying debut novel, Dark Harbor. Now Hosp returns with this suspenseful follow-up, a mesmerizing tale of murder, corruption, and deadly secrets in the nation’s capital.

At the scene of Washington Post reporter Elizabeth Creay’s grizzly murder is a lighter tainted with a lone fingerprint. When police run the print, it matches drug dealer Jerome Washington, leading to a nice and tidy arrest that makes everyone happy. Everyone, that is, except detectives Jack Cassian and Darius Train and the victim’s sister Sydney Chaplin. Years ago, Sydney moved away from the District, hoping to escape its darker side. But now she’s back to help Jack and Darius cut through the red tape and uncover the truth behind her sister’s death.

Moving from the grittiest streets of D.C. to the most secretive political dens, The Betrayed is a relentless thriller loaded with surprises.
