Luzia N.E. Drainway has never concerned herself with the wicked fey Astrosi who lurk above and below the Bastion, a multileveled megalopolis she calls home. Until, that is, the nefarious trickster Carrion—a rogue Astrosi—kidnaps Luzia’s nephew and sells him on to the Eoi, an Astrosi court.

Desperate to rescue her beloved kin, Luzia is forced to agree to a twisted contract and trade her life for her nephew’s. But after entering into the service of the Eoi, she finds herself embarking on a terrifying quest.

With danger around every corner, Luzia must decrypt a troubling message given to her by Carrion in order to reveal the secrets of the Astrosi and solve the mystery that resides at the very core of the Bastion itself. But she has to stay alive first …
