Summary

Emelyne is a human raised in a dwarven village. In her world, nothing about that is abnormal. Yet whenever one of the people with brilliant-colored hair is near, her dwarven parents insist she hides. She doesn't understand why until one of them kills her childhood friend in cold blood. After bonding with a dragon and meeting some unusual characters, she discovers truths about her past. In light of this, she sets out on a journey to rebuild a village and rise against the coterie, fueled by a desire to avenge her friend.

Samara's new life away from the Sacred Flame coterie has opened her eyes to a different world. Traveling with a group of actors, she searches for the lost royal—her best hope to stand against the coterie's rule, rebuild the kingdom, and serve as a stepping stone to free Paxton. The dangers of the past are not behind her.
