Author Bio: Richard Boyatzis
Richard Boyatzis teaches in the departments of organizational behavior, psychology, and cognitive science at Case Western Reserve University. He is the author of more than 150 articles and
books on leadership, competencies, EI, and change from a complexity perspective. Prior to becoming a professor in 1987, Boyatzis was president and CEO of McBer and Company. He received a BS in
aeronautics and astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a PhD from Harvard University in social psychology.
Daniel Goleman, a former science journalist for the New York Times, is the author of thirteen books and lectures frequently to professional groups and business audiences
and on college campuses. He cofounded the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning at the Yale University Child Studies Center, now at the University of Illinois, at Chicago.
