I thought I was well-prepared after rotations of studying, research, and inquiries, and I should have been. As I stood next to my brothers, confident I had the knowledge to handle anything thrown at me, I never pictured her, nor the sheer terror that coursed through me as I frantically ripped apart the pod to save her.
