Author Bio: Pete Seeger
Pete Seeger (1919–2014) was a towering figure in American culture best known for his contributions to the revival of folk music in the United States and his activism. A masterful musician and a commanding spokesman, he remained true to his passions and principles, and his personal stories bear witness to some of our past century’s most scaring and triumphant historic events. He wrote many hit songs, including “Turn, Turn, Turn!”, ”Where Have All the Flowers Gone,” and “We Shall Overcome,” widely recognized as anthems of the 1960s American civil rights movement.

Jeff Haynes is a Grammy award winning, world-renowned percussionist who has played with the likes of Herbie Hancock , Chaka Khan, Aimee Mann, Glen Hansard, and many more. He is the founder and president of Komunyaka Music, Inc., a multifaceted music production company offering percussion based workshops featuring professional storytellers, spoken word artists, dancers, and musicians. Haynes also spends time in the local schools teaching children music.
