Editorial Reviews

“Children of all ages love the classic and iconic character Winnie-the-Pooh in many forms, and here is a fully engaging audiobook…Beautifully narrated by Barbara Rosenblat, this collection of short stories will linger in the hearts and minds of all listeners. She masterfully delights in and embodies wonder, innocence, and imagination. Rosenblat’s tender performance is paced perfectly for young children as they sit cross-legged on the floor or curl up next to their loved ones at bedtime. Winner of an AudioFile Earphones Award.” AudioFile on Winnie-The-Pooh
“A resplendent narration and enchanting sound effects make this edition of Grimm’s 1812 fairy tale quite irresistible. Georgia Lee Schultz’s warm voice is ideal for the portrayal of Snow White, particularly when she talks to her birds. Most impressive is Mary Ellen Herder’s Evil Queen; her harsh voice and disturbing cackle are spot-on. First-rate sound effects add atmosphere…When Snow White runs away, she meets the dwarves, whose chirpy voices and offbeat humor add fun. The comforting sound of the Prince brings a happy ending when he weds Snow White, bringing peace to their kingdoms.” AudioFile on Snow White

Author Bio: A. A. Milne

Alan Alexander Milne (1882–1956) was the son of a Scottish schoolmaster. Milne won a scholarship to Westminster School and later read mathematics at Cambridge. His real interest was in lighthearted writing; he edited the undergraduate magazine Granta and at twenty-four he became assistant editor of Punch. After serving as a signals officer in World War I he won additional acclaim as a playwright. His great success, however, came as a writer of children’s literature after publishing a series of verses about his young son Christopher Robin (When We Were Very Young and Now We Are Six). Following the acclaim received for the Winnie-the-Pooh books, Milne published several novels as well as an autobiography, It’s Too Late Now (1939).

Author Bio: The Brothers Grimm

The Brothers Grimm were German academics, linguists, cultural researchers, and authors. They are among the most well-known storytellers of European folk tales, and their work popularized such stories as “Cinderella,” “The Frog Prince,” “Hansel and Gretel,” “Rapunzel,” “Rumpelstiltskin,” and “Snow White.” Their first collection of folk tales, Children’s and Household Tales, was published in 1812. The popularity of the Grimms’ collected folk tales has endured well beyond their lifetimes. The tales are available in hundreds of translations and have been made into popular Disney films, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella.
