Summary

Abby was young, only a junior in high school. Her entire life waited before her, with big plans to go to college. Her parents were strict, stricter than most parents, and sex before marriage was not tolerated in her church. Abby Stein is a good girl until she isn’t. Raised by radical Christians, Abby knows that sneaking out of the house to go to a party could come with devastating consequences, but only if she gets caught. Regardless of the consequences, she does it, and she almost gets away with it. 

Jimmy was a high-school senior with a basketball scholarship to an ivy-league college. When they meet at a party, one which Abby snuck out of the house to attend, their lives head down completely different paths when a few weeks later, when her belly begins to grow, and Abby must face the fact that she’s pregnant. She dreads telling her parents because Abby’s punishments aren’t the same as other kids. Her punishments are harsh, meant to disgrace and isolate her. Jimmy is determined to stand by Abby, but when her overbearing parents, and their extremist church find out about the pregnancy, the young couple is torn apart, with devastating consequence.

Pastor David Owens answers Abby’s call for help when she appears in the church parking lot. She is on the brink of suicide, threatening to take her infant daughter with her.

As the suspense builds, the small group of congregants unites in a heartfelt effort to save her life. Will they be able to reach Abby and reveal God’s true love to her before time runs out? David had been questioning why God had sent him to this small coastal town, now he knows exactly why: he’s meant to save this girl’s life.
