He and his mother fled the Hungarian uprising, first to the United Kingdom and then to Australia. He has written and edited for the national daily newspaper The Australian, as well as authoring investigative books on victims of crime, including the acclaimed Murder by the Prosecution, which was filmed as a documentary.
